| Love this photo! Look at the number of "shoe sales" associates. It looks like this particular establishment wasn't hurting for shoppers. I can't make out any brand names but it looks like the boxes are from Japan. By the 1950s there must have been a number of Okinawans who wanted to modernize their footwear, instead of going barefoot or wearing the geta (wooden clogs). |
