At the time that I was looking at and recording it I hadn't a clue what it was. Only when
I was leaving did I notice the sign indicating that it is the site of the tomb of Amamichu.
In Okinawan lore, Amamichu is believed to be the female deity responsible for the first Ryukyuan persons.
As I approached the place my instinct was to go to the right. I have
I then went back out and to the right. I'd love to know what the inscription on the monument reads.
Remember, while I was there I had no idea what I was looking at. I read the sign ON MY WAY OUT!
A final look around before deciding to leave
Like I said, it was only upon leaving that I got to know what I'd been seeing
